2nd August 2003  EVENT : Foundation Day

Foundation day was celebrated in the Montreal Hall of Hotel The Plaza. The chairman gave his annual state of the affairs and updated the gathering about the proposed affiliation with Sikkim Manipal university offering a Three year Bachelors Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. Along side we were to offer a one year Advance Diploma in Tourism Management. The function ended with the lavish buffet spread.

 3rd Auguist 2003 , EVENT : Begining of Academic Year:

Academic Year begins. Diploma students prepare for their American certificates in Accounts, Front office Operations, and House keeping Principles. While Short term students prepare for their F & B Service (6 months course) as well as Cookery (1 Year) courses.


28th August 2003 

Sudden closure of Plaza causes shifting of campus urgently. Friends help. Thank you Doctor Saheb and Major Kulkarni for letting us use your premises until we find a permanent campus.

20th September 2003 

The first batch of Amro Diploma students pass out. A celebration held in their honor at Yahoo restaurant. The students leaving shared a few emotional moments with their juniors and also informed of their future plans. Some decided to pursue further studies and are doing their post graduate diploma in Isle of Man, UK; while others are well placed in prestigious hotels.


12th-18th October 2003 

Diploma students appear for their exams in their Accounts, Front Office Operations and House Keeping Principles conducted by AH & LA of USA.


20th October 2003 

Diploma students leave for their industrial training at Taj Blue Diamond, Pune. While short term students continue their preparations for their courses through regular classes.

November 2003 

Mrs. Ajit takes in early retirement due to ill-health and shifts to Bangalore. Thankyou for all you did for Amro college. It was a pleasure to have you with us all this while. We shall miss you dearly Mam.


January 2004 

Short term F & B exams conducted by Maharashtra State Vocational Board.


February 2004 

Diploma students return from their training at Taj Blue Diamond, Pune.


March 2004 

Students share a day at Jiwahla Sankul, Cidco. They spend time playing games with the inmates and follow it up with a dinner prepared by them for the children longing for love and affection. This field work was organized to remind the students of their responsibilities towards the society that we live in.


April 2004 

Short term Cookery exams conducted by Maharashtra State Vocational Board.

 A visit to the popular Carnaval Restaurant in Mahatama Nagar. Mr, Bosco Quadrais explained to the students in the nitty gritties involved in setting up a restaurant and what things to take care of, to run it efficiently. This learning lesson was followed by a sumptuous lunch provided by the gracious host. Prevention of wastage and Cost saving is indirect  earning – a valuable lesson learned. Thank you Sir for your wonderful guidance.

 Exams in certificate course in Front Office Operations and Bar & Beverage Management conducted by AH & LA, USA.

May 2004 

A unique programme conducted by our faculty and students. A crash course in “HOME MANAGEMENT” was taught in the summer camp at Dawn Breakers School. The 8 day programme was utilized to give the insights of the basic things like etiquettes, first aid, balanced diet, flower arrangements, cleaning techniques, bed making, as well as a few simple mocktails and sandwiches and canapés the children can make for their parents at home. Hope the parents are enjoying the help being offered by their children. Thankyou Mr. Motiwala for trusting us and taking up our offer to join hands with you in the successful completion of another batch of summer camp at your organisation.

 A visit to the hip 21st Century Restaurant situated at Kulkarni Garden. Mr, Rahul Anand explained to the students the methods of efficient monitoring of the activities in a busy restaurant. He also gave a practical demonstration to our students in the preparation of a popular item on his menu – Achari chicken boneless. Apart from this the students got a lesson on stock taking and its importance in running a bar efficiently. Ofcourse  the training session ended in a meal graciously offered by Mr, Anand. How could we deny your wonderful and tempting offer Sir? We had to oblidge and enjoy ourselves. Thank you Sir.

 A visit to Mangesh Mithai, Main Road, gave the students a chance to understand the intricities required in making all kinds of Bengali Mithais, as well as jalebis on which the students also tried their hands at designing their own shapes of jalebis. Then they learnt the mixture of samosas and cathoris too and fried and ate some.

 The results of the F & B Service short term course held in January by the Maharashtra State Board of Vocational Guidance declared. 100% results achieved. 57% students have cleared the exams in first class. Mr. Ritesh tops with 67.09%. Bravo kiddos.

The results of certificate courses in Front Office Management as well as Bar and Beverage Management declared. Mr, Vyom clears his exam with honors, while Mr. Monit scores 82% amongst the others. Congratulations.


June 2004 

While the students are enjoying their well earned break for two weeks , the management is busy finalizing the admissions process for the upcoming academic year. Last date for filling in the admission forms has been extended to 15th June as the results of HSC as well as SSC have been delayed. So hurry up.
IF YOU WANT TO BE A STUDENT LEARNING THROUGH VARIOUS MEANS APART FROM CLASSROOM LECTURES, THIS IS THE INSTITUTE YOU NEED TO BE IN. GEAR YOURSELF UP FOR A BUSY YEAR AHEAD FILLED WITH EXAMS AND ACTIVITIES ALL ALONG.
DON’T FORGET WE SHIFT TO OUR NEW AND PERMANENT CAMPUS VERY SOON.
