10 Yearly Activities for the year 2009-2010

AMRO celebrates it’s 9th Foundation day on August 2nd 2009.

The foundation day of AMRO TOURISM ACADEMY and the College of Hotel Management was celebrated in presence of Mr. Deepak Khadke, Major S.Y.Kulkarni , Harish Bhai Gogad and Adv E.S.Ashokan and the families of our new and old students. This was a family affair and due to the ongoing construction at our campus it was decided to hold the function at HOTEL SAI PALACE Nashik. This was a day full of excitement. The chairman , Mr. Rajan Soni welcomed all and his annual state of affairs address he appraised one and all about the progress during the year gone by and also welcomed the new AMROITES. In his address Mr. Soni informed all that starting this year we have started taking admissions into a three year BA_IHA of IGNOU.The program got started with Nashik’s own Rock band Trigamya performing their show and got every one rocking.

The students performed their acts which included songs, dance and Nashik's famous Lejhim show. The annual prizes for sports, cultural activities and also awards of Academic Excellence were also distributed during the function. Some of the awardees are as follows:
Late Shrimati VIMLA DEVI SONI award for Top Student of B.Sc-HS First year of Rs 1,000/- in cash was awarded to Mr. Tejas Agrey
Late Mrs Subodh Madan Award of Excellence for a Student of B.Sc-HS Second year of Rs 1,000/- in cash was awarded to Mr. Rohan Soni
Late Mr. Anil Soni award of Excellence in Cookery was awarded to Mr. Pratik Dharne and Mr. Umesh Sonje( winners of Cooking Competition. A cash award of Rs 500/- was awarded
This years winners of STC courses of MSBVE were awarded to Mr. Pradeep Prabhakar and Mr. Philip Mohite
Late Mrs. Ambutai Kulkarni Award for top student of B.Sc-HTM First year went to Mr. Rahul Sanap A cash award of Rs 500/- was presented by Major Kulkarni.
Late Mrs. Laxmibai Sudame Award for B.Sc HTM Second year went to Mr. Navnath Bhagwat. A cash reward of Rs 500/- was given by Mrs. Major Kulkarni.
This years best attendance award was given to Mr. Prashant Tayde and incidentally Mr. Harish Bhai Gogad also announced that the award is being augmented by Rs500/- from his travel agency M/S Kirti Tours and Travels.
Late Shri Chunilal Soni Award for PRIDE OF AMRO was awarded to Mr. Rohan Soni this year. A cash Award of Rs 1,000/- was given to him.

The last award announced by the Chairman was that of CHAIRMAN'S AWARD OF ENCOURAGEMENT. This award aws to be given to the most outstanding and under privileged student whom the Chairman would adopt him/her as an AMRO's Adopted Child. Whereby the student was to receive free education for one year and if a minimum percentage of 75% is maintained the student will keep getting this scholarship till he /she graduates. Due to his family background and excellent performance the adoptee for one year was Mr. Rahul Sanap of B.Sc-HTM First year who made the chairman proud by scoring 78.96%. The chairman awarded Rahul Sanap a complete refund of his fees which is Rs 25,000/- by cheque no 818133 dated Aug 2nd,2009.

This year two New awards were announced and awarded immediately :

Starting this year our faculty member Mr. Ram Kumar Singh Announced that in memory of his late brother Late Mr. Dhananjay Kumar Singh a cash award of Rs 500/- will be awarded to B.Sc-HTM First year topper and this year it was given to Mr. Rahul Sanap.

Starting this year and continuing till next four years Ketki Group of companies has announced a cash award of Rs 1,000/- to be given to the best over all student of the year. This year it was awarded to Mr. Avinash Joshi and the award was presented by Mr. Deepak Khadke Chairman of Ketki Group of Companies.

This was followed by various sports awards and this years winners can be found in a separate list published.

The afternoon finished with a healthy lunch which was appreciated by one and all.

Event: Dynanganga International Education Fair

Amro Institutes participatedin the Mega Education Fair Dynanganga2009, organized by the SynergyFoundation, Nashik held at Dongre Vastigruh Ground, Old Gangapur Naka, Gangapur Road, Nashik between 20th Dec 09 to 25th Dec 09. Amro Institutes was the only Institute showcasing the career in Hotel Management for the students. Overwhelming response received by the Nashikites during the 6 day fair.

Event: Republic Day Celebration

Amro Institutes celebrated Republic Day on Tuesday, 26th Jan 2010. The Flag hoisting was done by the Chairman, followed by the Chairman`s Speech. The college had organized some entairtainment programme with refreshments on the occasion. Students also participated for the event. The Republic day Speech was given by Rahul Sanap (student of Bsc.HTM, Year-II), followed by Sandeep Pande (Student of B.A.IHA, Year-I) and Ambadas Gulve (Student of Bsc.HS, Sem-2). Some games were organized and refreshmentwas served to one and all.

Event: Chef Karandak competition organized by Sinhgad College of Hotel Management.

Students of Amro Institutes participated for the Chef Karandak competition organized by Singhgad College of Hotel Management, at Lonawala, on the 28th Jan 2010. The students were supposed to prepare dishes from the particular region of India. The Courses were One Starters preparation, One Main course Preparation with their accompaniment and One dessert. Two students represented for the competition from Amro Institutes Pratik Dharane (Student of Bsc.HS, Sem-4) and Rohit Patil (Student of Bsc.HTM). The students received a participation certificate for the competition.

Event: Guest Lecture

A Guest Lecture was organizedon Saturday, 30th Jan 2010 for the Students at the Amro Institutes, Library Hall. The topic was Career Development, Soft Skills and Interview techniques. Amro Institutes invited a Guest Speaker Mr. Jauhri who is a Director at Skills Development and Placement Centre, Nashik. The session included various aspects like, Communication Skills, Personality Development, Mannerisms of a Proffessional, the way to Success, Interview preparation etc. The students enjoyed the session and benefited from the workshop.

Event: Food and Beverage Service Competition

A food and beverage service competition was held for the students at the Training Restaurant and Bar of Amro Instituteson Saturday, 6th Feb 2010. The participants were asked to layout Breakfast Cover in an allotted time. Rohit Sonwane (Bsc.Hs, Sem-2) bagged First Prize, Ankush Kakkad (Bsc.HTM, Year-2) won Second Prize and Ajay Singh (Bsc.HTM, Yr-2) won the third prize.

Event: Cookery Competition

A Cookery competition was held for the students at the Training Kitchen of Amro Institutes on Saturday, 13thFeb 2010. The students had to make only the Starter course. The common ingredients and Basket of Vegetables and spices were provided to the students, and they had to prepare the starter in an allotted time. Rohit Patil (Bsc.Hs, Sem-2) bagged First Prize, Farhan Shaikh (BSc.HS, Sem-2) won Second Prize and Nikhil Sonawane (Bsc.HS,Sem-2) won the third prize.

Event: Study Tour and Picnic: Konkan- a Tourism Destination

A Study tour andOuting was arranged for the students between 7th and 9thFeb, 2010. The tour was organized by Konkan Udyog Paryatan Vikas Sanstha,Nashik. The tour included sight seeing like Diveagar, Harihareshwar, Janjira, Raigad Fort. The students had a great time having fun and learning.

Event: Guest Lecture

Incontinuation with the Guest Lecture Series on Monday, 22nd Feb 2010a workshop on Memory skills was organized for the Students. The Workshop was conducted by the Guest Speaker Mr. Arif F Shaikh, Advanced Memory TrainingInstitute, Nashik. The workshop had live demonstration of Mind power and also included some mind games. Importance of memory, how to build a good memorypower was told to the students. How memory plays an important role in day today life and how it can be applied for various situations to get an effective result.

Event: Food Festival

Amro College of Hotel Management celebrated the Flavours of India on March 27th, 2010. The Food Festival was celebrated at thenew campus site of AMRO in Rajurbahula, Nashik. The festival was inaugrated by Mr. Deepak Khadke, Dr. Kunal Gupte and Mr. Rajan Soni, Chairman of AMRO group of Colleges.

The Students under the guidanceof our expert Faculty conceptulised, and executed the entire menu. The menudepicted all the four geographical regions of India. It was divided as North,South, East and West. The menu was prepared so as to suit the taste pallets ofone and all. The menu items included : Kokum Sherbet, MULIGATAWNY SOUP Starters of : Murg Malai Kebab, Mutton SeekKebab, Cheese Nu Khaman, Gujrathi Samosa Main Course included: Daal BattiChhorma, Goan Fish Curry, Mutton Vindaloo, Veg Kolhapuri, Vange chi Bhaji, Hyderabadi Biryani, Dalcha assorted salads, Papads, Chutney , Pickels. There were Tandoori, Roti, Naan, Puri forthe dessert there was Zaqu-E-Sahi and Mixed Fruit Phirnee and closing everything with nice and hot Masala Tea.

The food was cooked on traditional Wood fired stoves (CULHA) andrest was prepared live by the students in front of the guests.

The students had organised various games for the attendees so thatthe pace can be maintained so that the guests can keep themselves busy whileenjoying the mouth watering delicacies.

Among the dignitaries who blessed the occasion were : Prof V. Aurangabadkar, Maj S.Y. Kulkarni, Dr. Galande, Adv. E.S. Ashokan Mr. MonitDhavle, Mr. Deepak Khadke, Dr. Kunal Gupte.
