While we don’t use the word guarantee for a job, yes, we will provide complete assistance in setting up job interviews for our graduates. Ultimately, the ability to get and keep a job rests on the shoulders of the candidate. If you are hardworking and have a strong skill set, you will have no problem finding a job. Several of our students also work part-time during their course, to supplement their income. This option is also available to candidates doing part-time or distance courses from our institute.

Contrary to popular belief, a hotel management degree does not make you eligible for only a job as a waiter or a cook. The name itself shows what you study – “hotel” and “management”. The hotel aspect covers all the core departments that are necessary for a hotel to function, while the management part covers basic management tools to run a successful hotel. This includes human resources, total quality management, principles of management, marketing management, accounting, computers, etc. Basically, all courses that would be covered in a BBA or MBA degree. A hotel management student is acquiring all the knowledge required for him to become a future manager. Of course, any good manager must start at the bottom to gain experience for his management post, as shall hospitality graduates.

A two year Diploma in Hotel Operations ( DHO) is a preparatory course in Hospitality. One can do DHO instead of doing a regular 11th and 12th ( HSC) at Junior college. The DHO has been given an equivalency of HSC by the state of Maharashtra. For details you can see the GR in our Download section.

The only difference between the two courses is that the four year degree course is an AICTE course and requires the candidate to appear for a CET to be able to take admission. However, the candidate can take direct admission in the three year degree. Also, as there is not much difference between the course structure, the student not only saves on the fees of an additional year, but also makes it into the job market and starts earning a year earlier than his counterparts in the four year degree. Moreover if a student wants to pursue a post graduate degree like MBA a four year degree doesn’t get any extra credit as both three years degree and a four year counterpart gets the same treatment.

This course is ideal, especially for female candidates. The industry suffers a dearth in qualified female applicants, and in the accommodations department especially, female applicants are preferred as they are generally considered better hosts and housekeepers. Many parents have also remarked that a hotel management degree is not much different than sending their ward to a finishing school, as etiquette along with basic housekeeping elements, international cuisine, grooming, personality development, even budgeting are taught. Candidates may also find it easier to start a home-based business, such as dabba service, a small bakery, or even cooking classes if they no longer wish to work in the industry.

No, hotel management graduates are essentially equipped to get a job in a hotel, but can also pursue a career in an allied industry or even set up their own business. Examples of allied industries include cruises, airline catering, industrial catering, event management, hospital or industry housekeeping, even call centers or teaching hospitality. For setting up their own business in a related field, a graduate may set up a catering business, an eatery, a hotel, an event management company, etc. Several of our own graduates have done so.
